Steven Russell Gray, 62, of Salem, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born on February 2, 1963, in Corydon, Indiana, he was the son of Alice (Skaggs) McDaniel and the late Gene Gray.
Steven was a man of many interests, including the hobbies of building model cars and watching drag racing. He spent many hours in his shed, often found tinkering away, demonstrating his ability to fix nearly anything that needed mending. Steven enjoyed going on walks in the woods with his four-legged companions, Zeke and Shelby.
Above all, Steven was devoted to his family. His love for his wife, Karen (Weaver) Gray, was extremely evident. He was a proud father to his children, Jeremy Gray (Allyson), Brandy Weaver, Heather Lamb (Alan), and Steven Scott, and had a special affection for his grandsons, Ethan and Nathan Gray. Along with his mother, Steven is also survived by his sister, Deborah Overstreet.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany, located at 3309 Ballard Lane. Visitation will continue after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with a funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow, in accordance with Steven's wishes.
