Steven Earl Sheckell

Steven Earl Sheckell, 60, passed away on July 6, 2016, at his home with his family by his side, in Georgetown, Indiana. Steve was born in New Albany, Indiana, on February 2, 1956, to Elden and Elizabeth (Mayfield) Sheckell. He owned and operated a plumbing business for over 20 years and was a member of Edwardsville United Methodist Church. Steve enjoyed hunting, truck pulling, and tractor restoration.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Elizabeth Sheckell. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen (Reed) Sheckell; children, Vincent (Desiree), Matthew (Megan), and Brian (Kayla) Sheckell; sisters, Karen Harvey and Becky Pickett (Larry); brother-in-law, Kevin Reed (Linda); and five grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, Karis, Kinley, and Katelyn.

His visitation will be on Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church. His Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Edwardsville United Methodist Church (4830 State Road 64, Georgetown, Indiana 47122) at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society (701 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky 40203) or Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
