Sterling Stanley "Buster" Barnett, age 84, of Jeffersontown, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Louise Barnett of Elmburg, Kentucky and his brother Ralph Barnett.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Tyler Barnett and their two children, Gwendolyn (Tom) Pike and Robert Barnett. Left to also cherish his memory are his treasured grandchildren: Ryan (Sara) Pike, Zachary Barnett, Nathan (Kristen) Pike, Sara (Christian) Lenberger, Dylan Pike (Harper Anderson), and Shelby Barnett. Survivors also include his beloved siblings: Martha Perry, Charles (Susan) Barnett, Berttye Hardin, Richard (Sandra K) Barnett. Additionally, Buster is survived by his brother-in-law Calvin Tyler, sisters-in-law Sandra A. Barnett, Doris Tyler, Jeneva Workman and many nieces and nephews.
Buster retired from Navistar (formerly International Harvester) and Superior Container Corporation. He enjoyed being at home, watching old westerns, farming, tinkering with his old tractors and equipment, hanging out with his brothers Rick and Charley, and spending time with his 2 "grand dogs" and 7 "great grand dogs".
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the home of Tom and Gwen Pike: 15900 Winding Ridge Trail, Louisville, KY 40299. Buster's family, friends and neighbors are welcome to stop by anytime from 1-4pm to share stories, memories and celebrate a life well lived.
