Stephone Lamont Ritchie, Sr., age 38 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019. Stephone Lamont Ritchie, Sr. was born on June 25, 1981, to his beautiful mother, Marsha Ritchie and his strong father, Rodger L. Ritchie. Stephone loved the Lord. At an early age, Stephone dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Pewee Valley. Recently, Stephone rededicated his life to Christ and was re-baptized at Salem Assembly of God Church on July 1, 2018.
As a child and young adult, Stephone "My Buddy" always protected his "Kid Sister", Amber Ritchie. Stephone was loving and developed close friendships in high school that would last forever. Stephone worked well with his hands and could fix almost anything. He could fix brakes, drive a fork lift, proficiently perform construction and plumbing duties. He had aspirations of becoming a plumber and was currently studying to be a plumber service technician. Stephone was an extraodinary comedian and had a way to turn any sad situation into a comedic one. He was funny just like his father and compassionate just like his mother.
Stephone loved his children! Stephone loved, sacrificed, and did everything for his children! He was their best friend, protector, and always led by example. Stephone was a hero. Recently, the family received a message from a fellow gamer, half way around the world, that stated Stephone took time out of his busy schedule to play online video games and give her son encouragement. Because of Stephone, his friend's son, "trusted life again." Stephone's life was cut short while on a family vacation as he tragically drowned while securing the safety of his children in Cocoa Beach, FL. Stephone died as a hero. Stephone was preceded in death by his grandmothers and grandfathers, Helen D. Taylor, Carlos B. Taylor Jr., Addie Katherine Ritchie, & Louis Ritchie, Jr.
Stephone is survived by his mother, Marsha E. Ritchie; his father, Rodger L. Ritchie (Jennifer Ritchie); his children, Kaylib D.K. Ritchie, Dontez W. Smith, Joseph "Latrell" Winsor, Stephone L. Ritchie Jr., Nevaeh E. Ritchie, Michael L. Ritchie, Cheyenne R. Winsor; his grandchildren, Dallas R. Winsor & Jaxten L. Garrett; his sister, Amber N. Ritchie; his step-siblings, Jalin Abernathy and Cameron Beckley; his nephew, Devin Cain, Jr.; his Aunts and Uncles; and a host of Cousins, Family, and Friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Pewee Valley 7104 Old Floydsburg Rd, Pewee Valley, KY 40056, and 11am to time of service at 1 pm on Saturday, November 2nd at the church. A celebration of Stephone's life will be 1 pm there, with burial to follow in Pewee Valley East Cemetery.
