Stephen Joseph Taylor

Stephen Joseph Taylor, 70, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on October 16, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky to William A. and Dorothy (Schulten) Taylor. Stephen was a life-long Catholic and active member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg, living his faith in word and deed. A devoted husband, father, brother and extremely proud grandfather, Stephen was a source of humor, joy, and support to his friends and family. He was always there to help, armed with a smile and any number of jokes. Stephen was a proud veteran of the Navy, serving overseas during wartime. As a graduate of Bellarmine University and an avid sports fan, Stephen loved attending basketball games. When not cheering on the Knights, Stephen could be found on the golf course or traveling with family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Adele Harpring. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna (Spitznagel) Taylor, his sons; Jeffrey Taylor (Laura) and Michael Taylor (Jocelyn McConnaughey), brothers; Robert and Kevin Taylor (Pat), along with one grandchild, Liam Taylor.

His Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church , Sellersburg Campus (105 St. Paul Street, Sellersburg, IN 47172). His Service will be on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10 AM at St. John Paul II Catholic Church with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the building fund for St. John Paul II Catholic Church (payable to St. John Paul II Catholic Church).
