Stephen "Steve" T. Rusbacky, Jr.

Stephen T. Rusbacky, Jr. was born on March 23, 1935, in Youngstown, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a beloved husband, grandfather, and a dedicated member of his community.

Steve devoted 19 years of his career to Lowes on Hurstbourne Lane, where he made many friends and touched the lives of colleagues and customers alike. He cherished his time there, finding joy in helping others and contributing to the store’s success. After a fulfilling career, Steve retired at the age of 80, looking forward to spending more time with his family and indulging in his passions.

A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Steve served his country with honor and dignity. His military service instilled in him values of hard work, resilience, and community spirit, which he carried throughout his life.

In addition to his professional life and service, Steve was a passionate supporter of the University of Louisville, proudly championing his favorite team. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his love for his family.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Betty Ann Rusbacky; his children, Jeff Rusbacky and Lisa Ann Boedeker (Jim); and three cherished grandchildren, Ryan Boedeker, Zach Boedeker, and Whitney Rusbacky. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steve's legacy of love, kindness, and commitment to family and community will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Rusbacky, III, whose memory remains a source of love and strength for the family.
