Stephen Paul "Steve" Brown, 70, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. Steve loved cooking and watching NASCAR. He was an avid basketball fan and loved making his famous red hot candy at Christmas for his family and friends.
He was born on March 24, 1949, in Corydon, Indiana, to Earl Brown and Ethel (Wolfe) Adams. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Berryman.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Jane (Zimmerman) Brown; children, Lisa (Mike) Rainey, Kimberly (Steven) Bruce, Angela Brown, Kristin Brown, and Christopher Brown; brother, Garry (Nancy) Brown; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Borden, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Steve's memory be made to WHAS Crusade for Children or St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities (702 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150).
