Stephen Dwayne Brightman

October 11, 1970 — February 15, 2020

Steve was born to the late Lorien J. Brightman and Peggy F.(Bollinger) Brightman in Illinois on October 11, 1970. He passed away into the arms of God on February 15, 2020 at Baptist Health in Louisville.

Steve attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary, Trinity High School, and Eastern University. Steve was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the University of Louisville and the Green Bay Packers. He loved visiting his grandma Marcy Brightman and family in Green Lake Wisconsin, where he enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved boating, riding his motorcycle, snow and water skiing, caring for his dog, Biscuit, and hanging out with his friends and family

He is preceded in death by his father, Lorien J. Brightman; grandparents, Willis and Marcy (Schneider) Brightman and Harold R. and Sarah (Shellman) Bollinger; uncle, Bob Minskey; his beloved brother, Lorien J. Brightman, Jr.; aunt, Janice R. (Brown) Flint; and cousin, Lisa (Brown) Austin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Peggy Brightman; aunt, Mary L. Scholetzky and her family; uncle, Jimmy Brighman (Marsha) and their family; aunt, Carla Anderson and her family; and all the members of the Van Horn family; aunt, Pat (Bollinger Rucker) Boblitt and her family; cousins, Burrel Brown (Regina) and family, Laura (Brown) Wright and family, Stacy Rucker, and John Rucker; Craig Minskey and family, Patrick Minskey and family, Stacy Bernd and family, Bethany Anderson and family and many friends and extended family.

Steve was a wonderful person. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his memory to The American Cancer Society.

The family has chosen cremation services.

Services are currently pending for a Mass of Celebration at a later date.

His ashes will be interred at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Stephensport, Ky at a later date.

A special thanks to Lisa and Loren Kabacinski of Wisconsin; Charlene Yost of Tennessee; and all the doctors and nurses who cared for Steve over the past 5 and half years. Many more are specially remembered by Steven while he stands next to God.
