Stephan Paul Bleuel, 58, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026.
A phenomenal and amazing father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son, Stephan loved his family more than anything in this world. He never had a problem being himself or speaking his mind. Some would even say he started the phrase “Bleuel-headed.” Stephan always knew how to make people smile and was truly the life of the party. He touched the hearts of everyone he met.
His warm and generous heart had no limits, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He loved his grand-dogs, music, friends, and, above all else, his family. He was not only a father to his sons, Kenny and Nick, but also a father figure to many others, especially DJ and Kristina, whom he loved dearly.
Stephan was also a loving and wonderful brother to his siblings: Marie, Michael, Tommy, Eric, Alicia, and the late Kenneth and Kevin Bleuel. They loved him more than words could ever describe.
There are not enough words to describe how much Stephan meant to everyone, nor enough pages to hold all the memories, laughter, and kindness he shared throughout his life.
Stephan wanted nothing more than to be a grandfather. Though he is no longer with us, his love will live on through his grandchildren, James William Bleuel and River Stephanie-Skye Bleuel. We know he will be watching over them from above and guiding them with his love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bud” Bleuel and JoAnn Bleuel, and his brothers, Kenny and Kevin Bleuel.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Bleuel (Furana); Nicholas Bleuel; Herbert “DJ” Taylor; and Kristina Bleuel-Merideth (Josh); his siblings, Marie, Michael (Pam), Tommy (Tammy), Eric (Alaina), and Alicia Bleuel, along with many nieces and nephews and his two beloved grandchildren on the way, James William Bleuel and River Stephanie-Skye Bleuel.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital for their kindness, support, and compassion in making Stephan’s final days as peaceful and painless as possible.
Heaven has gained a wonderful, caring, and loving soul. Stephan will forever watch over his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters. He will be more than missed — he will be loved, cherished, and remembered always.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive. His funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, Kentucky.
He will be laid to rest and buried next to his brother Kenny as his final wish.
“And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking.
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older,
shorter of breath, and one day closer to death.”
— Pink Floyd / Roger Waters
