Stella M. Norris

Stella Mae Norris, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on March 12, 2017. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Stella enjoyed her time quilting, crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles, and reading. She was a member of the Iroquois Post Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies Club, and was a cafeteria worker for the Most Blessed Sacrament/St.'s Simon and Jude Catholic Schools.

Stella was born on February 6, 1934, in Lyon Co., Kentucky to the late James "Evvy" and Zeffie (Harper) Cochran. She was also preceded in death by her son, David M. Norris; daughter-in-law, Cheryl S. (Link) Norris; grandson, James J. Norris, IV.

Stella is survived by her Husband of 65 years, James Jerome Norris, Jr.; sons, James J. Norris, III, Kevin A. Norris (Terri), Timothy D. Norris (Cindy), COL John G. Norris (Sandra); daughter-in-law, Charie Norris; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). Her Mass will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (3509 Taylor Blvd Louisville, KY 40215) with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
*The family has a special request that you bring your quilt or afghan made by Stella to Mass with you to drape over your pew in honor and memory of Stella.
