Stanley Elroy Watson, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.
He was born on October 8, 1954, in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Hilary and Pauline (Ward) Watson.
Stanley lived life with determination and grit. He worked hard his entire life and faced more than his share of challenges, including numerous health scares and surgeries—each one met with stubborn resilience and a refusal to quit. That strength defined him and earned the respect of those who knew him well.
Stanley had a strong personality and was unapologetically himself. He was funny, blunt, and often vulgar in a way that brought laughter to those around him. He had a gift for humor and enjoyed making others laugh, leaving behind countless stories that will be retold with smiles for years to come. He was deeply loved by his friends, neighbors, and family, all of whom knew him as genuine, loyal, and real.
Stanley is survived by his loving children, Carrie Lynn Romero, Travis Kelly Watson, Steven Kyle Watson (Serina Dierfeldt); grandchildren, Kelsey Beaver, Ariana Romero, Mackenzie Watson, River Watson, Wyatt Watson; four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alec, Ayden and Alijah. He is also survived by siblings, Keith Watson, Loretta Watson, Marilyn Watson, Kathy Smith, and Richie Watson.
Though Stanley has left this world, the laughter he sparked, the strength he showed, and the love he gave remain. He will be remembered as a man who lived honestly, loved hard, and left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to cross his path.
Per Stanley's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
