Stanley H. Brown, Jr.

Stanley "Monk" H. Brown, Jr., 72, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

He was born in Munfordville, Kentucky on November 6, 1944 to the late Stanley H. Brown, Sr. and Opal Edwards.

In addition to his parents "Monk" was preceded in death by one brother Maxie Brown.

Left behind to cherish his memory is a loving family including two daughters Christy Pruitt and Dawn Brown; three step-children Randy Pruitt, Mike Pruitt and Kelly (Mark) Thomas; Best Friend and Life Long Companion Esther Pruitt; 8 grandchildren Jeffrey, Amber, Kurtis, Kaylyn, Jacob, Kirsten, Shelby and Jordan; three great grandchildren Lilyana, Layla and Brantley; two nieces Karen Dyer and Nikki Dyer; Great "grand" Niece Josilyn Dyer; two nephews Jamie Brown and Damon Brown; one sister-in-law Janette Brown; "honorary" granddaughters Heather Davis and Olivia Wardrip; special friends that became family Kathy and Dana Davis and Karen Wardrip and he will be missed by his five grand dogs as well as a host of other family members and friends.

Stanley's family would like to thank the staff at Norton Cancer Institute and Radiation Center - St. Matthews as well as the dedicated nurses and staff at Louisville East Post Acute for the care they showed to him and the family.

There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-6 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday.
