Sondra Dee Cahill

Sondra Dee Cahill, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was a dedicated nursing professional whose exemplary career spanned nearly four decades, during which she touched countless lives. Sondra notably held the position of Director of Nursing at Providence Retirement Home and later at The Mansion on Main, where her passion for caring for others shone brightly.

Born on November 16, 1960, in New Albany, Sondra was the daughter of Hubert and Doris (Murphy) Cahill. Along with her parents, Sondra was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amanda Hope Cahill. 

Throughout her life, she embraced her many interests with enthusiasm. She was known for being an avid reader and having a deep appreciation for classic cars. Additionally, Sondra enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her siblings, Richard Cahill and Nancy Inman. Alongside them, Sondra leaves behind a loving extended family, including a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend, Pat Ueland, whose companionship meant so much to her.

Visitation to honor Sondra’s life will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Additional visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, followed by a sharing of memories and stories scheduled for 11:00 a.m., with cremation to follow in accordance with Sondra's wishes.
