Shirley Kay (Spalding) Richmer, 66, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020. Shirley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, Indiana, and loved crocheting, reading, gardening, baking, and just being outside.
She was born on June 30, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Carl and Aliene (Akers) Spalding. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bud" Richmer; and brother, Tommy Spalding.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, Jeaneva (Michael) Sumner and Danny Spalding; siblings, Bobby (Bonnie) Spalding, Marilyn (Ambrose) Courier, George Spalding, Pat Spalding, and Betty (Carl) Atcher; grandchildren, Danielle (Derek) Floyd, Alyson (Jared) Cook, Shelby Spalding, and Katelyn Sumner; and great-grandson, Nash Cook.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church-Lanesville with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Shirley's memory be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church-Lanesville.
