Shirley Mae (Phelps) Ramsey

Shirley Mae (Phelps) Ramsey, 73, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed life to its fullest. Shirley was a friend to many, never meeting a stranger, and possessed a bubbly and outgoing personality. She was fond of her pets and enjoyed spoiling them. She was the driving force in our family for initiating our family get-togethers from a spontaneous run to Polly's Freeze, to a yearly trip to Huber's so the grandkids could pick out a special pumpkin, to traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. She will be greatly missed by her family and her special lifetime friends.

She was born on August 21, 1947, in Eubank, Kentucky, to the late Thomas and Ida (White) Phelps. Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother, David Phelps; and son, Shannon Ramsey.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years, Willard Ramsey; son, Jeff Ramsey (Laura); brother, Carson Phelps; sister, Phyllis Phelps; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
