Shirley Mae Singleton

July 25, 1934 — March 19, 2016

Shirley Mae Singleton, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on March 19, 2016. She was a member of Northeast Christian Church. Shirley loved all of God's creatures big or small. Her heart was a revolving door and made everyone feel like family even if they were not related.

Shirley was born on July 25, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Tom and Ida Douglas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luke Sr. and grandson, Baby Luke.

Shirley is survived by her children, Luke Jr.(Barbara), Sharon (John), and Colvin (Marybeth); grandchildren, Shawn (Holly), Katy (James), April, Crystal, Brandon, Mary, and Carla (Mike); great-grandchildren, Shawn Jr., Shane, Stephen, Abby, Lainey, Oliver, Ruthie, Caleb, Lilly Mae, Kinley, Lukey, and Jayme; and a host of family and friends.

A Gathering will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville) with her Memorial Service following immediately at 11:30 am. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Lebanon National Cemetery privately.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
