Shirley Ann Hartley

Shirley Ann Hartley, 85, passed away on September 19, 2026.

Born Shirley Ann Wojciechowski on September 4, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Shirley was a kind, loving, and nurturing woman whose life was centered on caring for others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she was known as an organizer and caretaker whose steady support meant so much to her family. She especially treasured her role as a loving wife and was deeply supportive of her husband throughout their many years together.

Shirley’s faith was an important part of her life. She loved going to church and was a longtime member of the former Woodland Baptist Church, now known as Life Point Church. Her faith, warmth, and gentle spirit were reflected in the way she lived and in the love she shared so freely with those around her.

She also gave many years of dedicated service in her working life. Shirley worked for General Electric for 15 years and later retired from C & I Engineering after more than 19 years as an Executive Secretary. Her commitment, reliability, and caring nature were evident both at work and at home.

Above all, Shirley will be remembered for the love she poured into her family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Raymond Hartley, whom she married in Garden City, Michigan in 1958. Together they built a long and loving life. She is also survived by her children, Timothy (Melissa) Hartley, Cheryl Hartley Koerner, and Deborah Hartley; her grandchildren, William Koerner Jr., Bethany Koerner, and Adam Hartley; and her great-grandchildren, Scarlett Koerner and Isaac Hartley. The love she gave to each generation of her family will remain a lasting gift and a cherished memory.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28th at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Middletown Cemetery in Middletown, Kentucky.

Shirley Ann Hartley will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, her strength, her faith, and the enduring devotion she showed to her family throughout her life.
