Shirley Gowdy

January 24, 1959 — February 15, 2015

Shirley Mulligan-Gowdy, 56, of Louisville passed away on February 15, 2015. Shirley was a substitute teacher for many years and a member of Grace Temple. She also enjoyed working at Chapter One assisting disabled children and held a television ministry for 10 years called Brighter Day Apostolic Believers.

Shirley was born in Louisville on January 24, 1959 to the late Lee Mulligan and Lucille Gowdy.

Survivors include her children, Octavia Cunningham (Kevin) and Jessica Badon; sisters, Betty Jean Dickerson, Janice Lee Freeman, Angela Marie Robinson, and Sharon Elizabeth Breckinridge; brothers, Lee Edward Mulligan, Jr. and Mark Anthony Mulligan; grandchildren, Kayla Marie Badon, Naya Crosby, Amalyah Cunningham, and Kavia Cunningham.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2015 at Grace Temple (1701 West Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY) with funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Green Meadows Cemetery.

Shirley leaves us with wonderful memories of counting our blessing one by one.

Shirley will always be remembered for her uniqueness which came in many forms.
