Sherrill Decker, aged 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, left us on September 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A devoted father, son, brother, grandfather, papa and friend, Sherrill lived life to the fullest. He devoted years of his career to Frito Lay and spent significant time at Metro Fabrications, where he formed lasting relationships with his colleagues. An adventurer at heart, he found joy in the thrill of riding his motorcycle and cruising around in his beloved BMW with the top down. Sherrill also enjoyed Derby City Casino and Kenwood Service Center. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, especially with his beloved great- granddaughter Sunni Bunny, who was the apple in his eye.
Sherrill’s journey began on August 31, 1956, in Louisville, where he was born to Willard Decker and Wilma Jaggers. He is preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Jaggers, father, Willard R. (Judy) Decker, Sr., including his dear sister, Alma Conover, and brothers, Ray Decker, Jr., and Clark Shadburne.
He leaves behind a beautiful family that will carry on his spirit: his loving children, Donald (Abby) Decker, Taylor (Michael) Cummins, Daniel (Myranda) Decker, Donnie (Raven) Upchurch, Jr., and Leatha Upchurch, alongside his supportive siblings—Steve (Barbara) Decker, Dewayne Decker, Bob (Lisa) Decker, and Beth Ford, as well as his brother-in-law, Bill Conover. His legacy continues with eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever cherish their memories of him.
A visitation to celebrate Sherrill's life will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A Funeral Service honoring his memory will follow at 6:00 pm that same day.
