Sheri R. Heldt

Sheri R. Heldt, born on April 28, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away on August 21, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana. Her passing leaves a profound sense of loss among her family and all who were privileged to know her.

Sheri’s early years were spent in Fort Branch, Indiana where she laid the foundation for a life built on dedication and kindness. She met the love of her life on the first bus ride to kindergarten. They both graduated from Gibson Southern High School, a milestone she cherished, setting her on a steady path through adulthood. They married on July 21, 1979 at Fort. Branch General Baptist Church.

Her tireless work ethic and compassion for colleagues left a lasting impact, demonstrating her commitment and integrity day after day throughout many industries.

Family was at the heart of Sheri’s world, and she took immense pride in nurturing those closest to her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Each moment shared was treasured-a testament to her boundless love and selflessness.

Sheri’s life was enriched by a variety of interests. She was an avid traveler, always eager for new experiences and the excitement of adventure. Her talent in the kitchen delighted family and friends, while her passion for theme parks reflected a joy for life and a sense of fun. Sheri found peace and happiness in nature, whether she was mushroom hunting, watching hummingbirds, or simply birdwatching. Even the comforts of online shopping brought her enjoyment, always keen to find something special for those she loved.

Sheri is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Tim Heldt, and her two sons, Todd (Abby) Heldt and Nathan (Angela) Heldt. Her memory will also be forever cherished by her 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her brothers, Rick (Elaine) Sides and Mike (Leslie) Sides; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sheri’s family knows she will always remain close in heart, even as she has departed from this world.

She is reunited in peace with her parents, William "Bill" and Sonja Sides, and her brother Jeff Sides, whose memories she carried dearly.

Sheri R. Heldt’s warmth, kindness, and gentle presence touched many. Her legacy of love, family, and cherished memories will endure for generations to come. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM at Galena Cemetery in Galena, Indiana.
