Shelby Mellett, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Shelby was former owner of Kentuckiana Chemical Supply, and was a Nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and traveling to the beaches. Shelby was a member of the Louisville Baptist Temple.

She was born on August 23, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to Hubert and Susie (Batcher) Boatman. She is preceded in death by her Parents, and Husband, Theodore "Ted" Mellett.

Shelby is survived by her, Son, David (Karen) Mellett, Daughter, Brenda (Tim) Garrett, Sister, Sue Dickson, Grandchildren, Christian Mellett, Georgia Mellett, David Mellett, Jr., Lauren Garrett, and Logan Garrett. Shelby also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Extended Family.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville, (235 Juneau Drive). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Louisville. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday January 15, 2020 at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Shelby's memory be made American Heart Association.
