Shelby "Lucky" DeWeese

Shelby "Lucky" DeWeese, age 73 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.  Shelby was born on September 27, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Roy Sherman and Vasta B. Embry DeWeese.  He graduated from Shawnee High School class of 1969.  He was proud owner of DeWeese Flooring and served many homes in the Louisville area throughout the years.  Shelby was a member of Masonic Lodge #506 and a Kosair Shriner.  He was also a member of Evangel World Prayer Center and loved to fish with his sons.  

In addition to his parents, Shelby is preceded in death by his brother, Roy DeWeese; and his sister-in-law, Twanna;   

Shelby is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris; sons, Shelby E DeWeese (Janice) and Michael DeWeese (Deidre); grandchildren, Austin DeWeese (Jessie), Mikey DeWeese (Katie Jones), Devin DeWeese and Jade DeWeese; great-grandchildren, Nash, Max, Easton and Roman DeWeese; his brother, Steve DeWeese; and a host of relatives and friends.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Monday, August 25, 2025 and also 9am to 11am on Tuesday, August 26th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.  A celebration of Shelby's life will be at the funeral home at 11am on Tuesday, August 26th with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
