Shelby Jean (Bartle) Deatrick, 80, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Shelby was a Christian by faith and enjoyed gardening and loving on her pets. Her biggest enjoyment in life was raising her 5 boys and caring for her husband.
Shelby was born on January 26, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Glen F. Bartle, Sr., and Alma V. (Kent) Varble. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen L. Deatrick; and brothers, Glen Bartle, Jr., and Donald Bartle.
Shelby is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald P. Deatrick, Sr.; sons, Michael W. Fitzgerald, Thomas P. Fitzgerald (Suzanne), Mark A. Deatrick, Dr. Ronald P. Deatrick, Jr. (Michelle), and Jeffrey L. Deatrick (Shalome); 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
The family requests that contributions in Shelby's memory be made to the J. B. Ogle Animal Shelter in Jeffersonville.
