Sheila "Darlene" (Sprigler) Murphy

Sheila "Darlene" (Sprigler) Murphy, 78, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. She retired from Samtec in New Albany after over 25 years of service, where she made many lifelong friends. Darlene adored her grandsons and loved vacationing at the beach. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat, as well as playing cards, Atari, Bunco, and Yahtzee.

She was born on March 1, 1943, in New Albany, Indiana. Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva (Stewart) Sprigler; and brothers, Wayne and Bill Sprigler.

Darlene is survived by her children, Lori Little (Wayne) and Brian Murphy (Barby); grandsons, Logan (fiancée, Anna Finch) and Dylan Murphy; cousin, Pam Williams (Stephen); sister-in-law, Donna Sprigler; and nieces, Mindy Ziegler and Kim Kirby.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
