Sharon Denise Walts

Sharon Denise "Sherry" Walts, 67, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, surrounded by family. She was born on February 15, 1953, in New Albany, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her father, Walter W. Million.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dennis Lee Walts; her 3 siblings, Bruce Million, Debbie McCullough, and Becky Hayes; and her mother, Sue Million. She leaves behind her two loving children, son Erick Walts and his wife Kaitlin, and daughter Amy Ferriell and her husband Steven. She is also survived by five beautiful grandchildren, Sarah, Maria, Kameron, Preston, and Charleigh Farriell.

Despite a long battle with cancer, Sherry never quit fighting. She was determined to live her life to the fullest, a shining example of perseverance and resilience. Sherry was a dedicated mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mimi to her grandchildren. Sherry had a vivacious personality and loved to make people laugh; she made friends everywhere she went with her warm spirit. Sherry loved to love on people and enjoyed spending her free time with family and friends. She loved the sun and enjoyed traveling to Tampa, Florida, for work. Her smile, laugh, and enthusiasm for life was contagious.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days. Cremation was chosen following Sherry's wishes. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
