Sharon Kay (Pugh) Van Ornum, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on October 10, 2018. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion Post #42 in Floyds Knobs and the Elks Lodge #270 in New Albany and volunteered at Actor's Theatre in Louisville. Sharon enjoyed reading, live music, and traveling.
She was born on June 1, 1950, to the late Elmer and Lenora T. (Eakin) Pugh. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Van Ornum; brother, Larry Pugh; and sister, Cindy Kisenko.
Sharon is survived by her children, Kelly Hamilton, James Hamilton (Sherri), Erin Moore, Megan Bruce (Chris), and Dennis Van Ornum, Jr.; siblings, Mike Pugh (Loralee), Pam Stanley (Richard), Trish Meyer, Chris Pugh (Judy), Maureen Hoar (Ed), and Brian Pugh; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Her Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral will be on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.
