Sharon Elizabeth Pearman, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on January 5, 1945, in Springfield, Missouri, she was a vibrant individual whose warmth and life’s passions touched the hearts of many.
Sharon's educational journey began at Highland Academy, where she graduated in the class of 1964. She further pursued her studies in office management at Southern Adventist College, setting the foundation for a dedicated career that spanned several years. Her early work included providing assistance in various doctor's offices and hospitals. However, it was her long tenure at the United States Post Office that marked a significant chapter in her professional life, ultimately leading to her well-deserved retirement.
Beyond her career, Sharon was often described as a ray of sunshine by her family, particularly her father, who lovingly referred to her as "sunshine." Her zest for life was evident in her passion for travel and her love for spending time in the sun. She embraced every opportunity for adventure and exploration, creating cherished memories along the way.
Sharon was also deeply committed to her community, dedicating her time generously through various volunteer efforts. She was actively involved in the arts industry, the Special Olympics, and the Gilda Club. Her love for Kentucky culture was evident as she attended numerous Kentucky Derby events, earning the esteemed title of Kentucky Colonel. These experiences enriched her life and allowed her to form lasting connections with individuals and organizations that held a special place in her heart.
She leaves behind her cherished family members, including her brothers, Rodney and Wesley Pearman, as well as her step-son, Henry Epperson Jr. In addition, Sharon is survived by a number of nieces and nephews: Shannon Pearman, Elizabeth Pearman Bohn, Christopher Pearman, Ross Pearman, Laura Pearman Collins, and Teresa Pearman Tipps, along with twelve great-nieces and nephews and surviving cousins.
Sharon was predeceased by her loving parents, Wesley Pearman and Bernice Pearman, who instilled in her values of kindness and dedication that she carried throughout her life.
As we remember Sharon, we celebrate her spirit, her unwavering commitment to her passions, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, generosity, and joy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
