Serita Mayon Hunter

Serita Mayon Hunter, 46, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Serita was a member of the Newburg Apostolic Church in Louisville where she was a member of the usher board and church choir. She also enjoyed being with and caring for the children and helped teach VBS. She also loved to collect gel pens and stuffed animals.

She was born on November 1, 1972, in New Albany, Indiana, to Charleen (McPheeters) and the late Clarence Hunter. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dora Parrish, Wilbur, Sr., and Barbara Hunter, and Marx and Joyce McPheeters; and several aunts and uncles.

Along with her mother, Serita is survived by her siblings, Robert (Wanda Stubbins) McMickin, CarLee (Damon) Blissett, and Michael McMickin; nieces, Amber Seay, Mykeisha Childers, and Sakarra McMickin; nephew, Damon Blissett, Jr.; and numerous cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Newburg Apostolic Church, (4817 East Indian Trail, Louisville, KY 40218). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the church with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Serita's memory be made to the American Heart Association.
