Listen to Obituary

Scott A. Shireman, age 61, passed away on March 15, 2026, with his wife Nancy faithfully at his side.

Born on May 18, 1964, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Scott was the devoted son of the late James W. “Dute” Shireman Sr. and Delores Deen Shireman. From an early age, his life would be marked by a deep love for people, music, and ultimately, a life-changing faith in Jesus Christ.

Scott was a proud member of NA since October 1, 1991. Sponsored by great men, Scott in turn sponsored many men over the last 34+ years.

Scott surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, January 26, 2012, a decision that shaped everything that followed. He didn’t just believe the message of grace-he lived it, shared it, and poured it into others every chance he had.

Scott and Nancy launched “Joyous Noise Ministry” promoting both established and up-and-coming Christian artists and creating opportunities for others to be heard. Well-known events including, Rock on Water started in 2013, thanks to Mayor Mike Moore, and Rock on Winter, became a signature expressions of Scott’s passion, drawing thousands each year to the Jeffersonville Riverstage and other venues for powerful, free nights of worship.

Scott launched Drums for Kids Christmas, placing drums into the hands of young people. Year after year, he provided 30 or more free drum sets to children and teens, anonymously giving not just instruments, but encouragement, purpose, and joy.

Music was one of Scott’s greatest callings. His band, Hush Harbor, played at venues throughout the Eastern United States, was featured on Wave 3 Television station, and became known for “rocking” in the New Year and Derby Eve Faith Night, right here in Southern Indiana. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, Scott’s goal was always the same: to lift up Jesus and bring people together.

Scott was also a loyal employee at Clark and Riggs Printing, where his strong work ethic and steady presence reflected his character. His love and respect for his employers, Gary and Robert, as well as his fellow coworkers, brought him home when his career pulled him away.

Beyond his work, Scott spent countless hours walking alongside others in their struggles, leading people to hope and healing through Celebrate Recovery. Scott had a gift for meeting people where they were and pointing them toward where God could take them.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Considine-Shireman; his nephews, Max Shireman (Stacy), Sean Beck and his great-nieces; his band members, Paul, Phil, Brian, Jason, Micah, Shawn, Matthew; dogs Louie and Benny, and many dear friends who will cherish his memory and carry forward the impact of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James W. Shireman Jr.

Scott’s life was a testimony of grace, generosity, and unwavering faith. He gave freely, loved deeply, and pointed countless lives toward Christ. His legacy will continue to echo through every life he touched, every song he shared, and every heart he helped restore.
