She embarked on her educational journey at Henry Clay High School, where she laid the foundation for a lifetime of intellectual curiosity. Her pursuit of knowledge continued at Transylvania University, culminating in the attainment of her Doctorate in Ministry from Lexington Theological Seminary. This scholarly achievement stood as a testament to her profound commitment to her faith and her desire to shepherd others in their spiritual endeavors.
Throughout her distinguished career, Kitty made significant contributions at AL Roark and Associates before transitioning to a role at Morgan Christian Church, where she shared her wisdom and guided countless individuals in their walk with Christ. Her intelligence and drive were revered by those fortunate enough to cross her path, and her honest, compassionate nature endeared her to many.
In addition to her professional vocations, Kitty possessed a wealth of interests that enriched her life and the lives of others. She cherished the moments spent playing bridge with friends from Beargrass Christian Church and serving as a youth minister in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A gifted writer, she crafted beautiful sermons that inspired and uplifted her congregation, effortlessly weaving her insights into a tapestry of faith.
Kitty leaves behind cherished family members who will carry her legacy forward. She is survived by her brother, John William Foley (Debi), and her beloved nieces, Meg Wilson (Stuart Wilson) and Jenny Metcalf (Scott C. Metcalf). They, along with her many friends and acquaintances, will remember her as a paragon of honesty and integrity, enriched by her unwavering compassion for others.
Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Bernan Foley and Elsie Lee Foley, who undoubtedly nurtured the spirit of kindness and commitment to faith that she exemplified throughout her remarkable life; her first husband Bert Roark and second husband Ben Johnson; daughter Kimberly Bernan Roark; and sister, Nancy Foley Johnson.
