Sarah Frances (Smith) Garrick

Sarah Frances (Smith) Garrick, 83, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on January 9, 2017. She was born on July 15, 1933, in Adairville, Kentucky, to Zelma and Mattie (Tyler) Smith. Sarah was a great caregiver and retired from the nursing field after many years of service.

Sarah was a faithful member at Brighter Day Anderson Temple Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and a member of the AARP, and former owner of a dental office in Chicago, Illinois, as well as a diner in Iota, Louisiana. She enjoyed and was a beloved leader in the World Peace Philosophy organization. She was a greeter and called the sick and shut-ins at her church.

Along with her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Hillman Garrick, Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Renee Garrick and Hillman Garrick Jr. (Audrey); brother, Bobby Smith (Sheilah); sisters, Cornell Hearn (Lindsey) and Dorothy Calloway; along with a grandchild, Devin Aikens.

Her Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Brighter Day Anderson Temple Church (1755 East 8th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Brighter Day Anderson Temple Church at 12:00 p.m. with visitation before from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
