Sanford Hurn

Sanford "Sandy" Hurn Jr., 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021. Sandy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and would always be there if they needed him. He restored his favorite 72 Chevy truck, loved animals, and loved working with his hands. He was a member of Grace Pointe Baptist Church for over four years. He also was a master mason for most of his life. Sandy will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on January 6, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to Sanford and Mary (Lawes) Hurn. He is preceded in death by his Father, Sanford Hurn, Sr., Mother, Mary Virginia Hurn, and Brother, Ernest Hurn.

Sandy is survived by his loving Wife of 58 years, Irene Elizabeth Hurn; Children, Cathy (Phil) Oliver, Sondra (Richard) Christian, Sanford "Little Sandy" Hurn, III, and Scott Hurn; 12 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren. As well as a host of cousins, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
