Sandy Boyd

Robert S. "Sandy" Boyd, Jr., 56, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Sandy was a loving and devoted son, brother, and uncle. He was known for his hard work and his loyalty to his family and friends. Sandy was a skilled handyman and took pride in his work. He enjoyed spending time camping, playing frisbee golf, throwing axes, and shooting his bow and arrow. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on May 19, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert Boyd, Sr. and Jeanie (Woosley) Newnum. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert S. Boyd, Sr..

Sandy is survived by his loving family, mother, Jeanie Newnum; sisters, Tammy Boyd, Carrie Newnum (Stephanie Embury), Tarri (Travis) Darnall; nieces and nephews, Tristian Boyd, Noah Cummings, Hailey (Macy) Mattingly, Hunter Mattingly, Bracher Darnall; great-nephew, Cole Boyd; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.
