Sandra Jean "Sandy" McCabe, a beloved figure in the lives of many, was born on February 11, 1940, and left this world on January 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories. She graduated from Loretta High School, class of 1958, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to community and service. For thirty years, Sandy devoted her professional life to Kroger, where she touched the hearts of her coworkers and customers alike, epitomizing loyalty and dedication.
Sandy's personality was as vibrant as it was welcoming; she indeed never met a stranger. Her innate ability to connect with those around her forged bonds that transcended mere acquaintance. A true friend, her heart was always open to helping others, embodying the spirit of generosity that endeared her to countless individuals.
In her younger years, Sandy showcased her competitive spirit through a love of volleyball and bowling, activities that not only kept her active but also provided joy and camaraderie. Her greatest joy, however, emanated from her family. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their achievements as her own and reveling in the allure of their youthful exuberance, especially as they engaged in various sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lorraine Richardson; brothers, Joe and Larry Richardson.
Sandy leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 64 years, Michael McCabe, Sr; children, Cheryl (Gary) Thompson, Michael (Jennifer) McCabe, Jr., Paula (Michael) Weddle and Scott McCabe; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessie) Thompson, Dustin (Lauren) Thompson, Landon (Janie) Thompson, Katie (Josh) Lefler, Michaela McCabe, Kristin Weddle and Cassidy (Keith Payne) Weddle; great-grandchildren, Grace, Kate, Claire, Caroline, Jolee, Will, Sadie, Tripp, Lawson and Lucie; sisters, Janice Lovell, Linda Wolz and Susie (Chris) Rausch and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
