Sandra "Lanee" J. Trent

Sandra J. Trent, affectionately known as “Lanee,” was born on January 12, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Theodore Johnson Sr. and Geneva L. Clayton (Johnson). From an early age, Lanee’s vibrant spirit and compassionate nature made her a beloved presence in the lives of those around her.

She was educated at Louisville Central High School and dedicated her professional life to the field of nursing, where she served with care and commitment for several decades. Her nurturing heart extended far beyond her career-Lanee was known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. To know her was to know kindness.

Lanee accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

With a personality as unique as it was endearing, Lanee was cherished by many. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a joyful companion. Among her greatest pleasures were spending time with family, enjoying “Divas Day Out” with her close friends, and embracing the thrill of casino adventures.

Lanee is survived by her five children: sons Terrance, Darryl (Tonya), Jermaine (Terrell), and Dewarn (Mandy); daughter Devonce Owens, daughter-in-law Vanessa Williams, and TeAndrea Jenkins. She also leaves behind two sisters, Rita and Karen; four brothers, Theodore Jr., Perry, Randy, and Don; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.

Sandra J. Trent’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 at St Stephen Baptist Church, (1018 S 15th St Louisville, KY 40210).
