Listen to Obituary

Sandra Fay Brown, affectionately known as Sandy Fay, was born on November 17, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James Hurst and the late Viola Adams Bowen. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal home, leaving a legacy of faith, service, and love.

Sandra attended Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where she graduated with the Class of 1966. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic and compassionate spirit. She was employed with Atria Senior Living, where she served with care, dignity, and genuine love for others, qualities that reflected her heart for people and her commitment to service.

She was united in holy matrimony to Bruce Brown, her devoted husband of forty-two years. Sandra was a loving and faithful wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother, and a treasured sister and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Bruce Brown; her daughter, Kelly Angelique Woods of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her son, Randol Matthew Brown of Louisville, Kentucky; and her precious granddaughters, Sherrita Elaine Gunn of Brooklyn, New York, and Jordynn Tyler Woods of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is also survived by her sisters, Eloise Hurst Sims of Simi Valley, California, and Rose Hurst Bowman of Louisville, Kentucky, along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Sandra was a devoted member of the Spirit of Love and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, with all her heart, mind, and soul. She joyfully shared Him with everyone she encountered. If you called her during the day and asked what she was doing, her response was often, “I’m spending time with the Lord, reading the Word.” Prayer and Scripture were the foundation of her daily life.

Sandy Fay loved her family and friends, whom she considered family deeply and faithfully prayed for them without ceasing. Her life was a living testimony of faith, kindness, and unwavering trust in God.

She often declared that we are Greatly Loved, Highly Favored, Extremely Blessed, Deeply Forgiven, and now, she is Perfectly Healed!
