Samuel E. "Pop" Peege, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 6, 2020.
Samuel was born on August 10, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Bob and Dorothy Peege. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Peege; wife, Janice Peege; and brother-in-law, George Governo.
Sam is survived by his wife, Verla Peege; children, Steve Peege (Rhonda), Karen P. Long (Ronnie), Mary Wiecek (Glenn), Scott Hedges (Beth) and Cliff Hedges (Lori); brother, Robert Peege (Joan), Jr.; sister, Leslie Governo; grandchildren, Miranda Hirschler (Andrew), Brandon Peege, Ashley Puckett (Tom), Aaron Long (Chelsea), Nikki Wiecek (Jordan), Kendall Hedges, Taylor Hedges, Corey Hedges, Gareth Hedges and Nathan Hedges; and three great-granddaughters, Lynlee Puckett, Layni Puckett and JC; niece, Kristin Parris (Ben); nephews, Eric Kute and Alan Peege.
All services for the family will be private. A private burial will be held at Lawrenceburg Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, KY. A celebration of Sam's life will be held at later date, when the restrictions are lifted.
In loving memory of Sam, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266) or American Diabetes Association (P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215).
