Sallie V. Jackson

Sallie V. Jackson, age 75 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the University of Louisville Hospital.  She was the loving mother of 3.  She was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the daughter of the late Mariethel Ganaway Tobin and Orenzio Tobin, Sr. Sallie attended Central High School and University of Kentucky.  Sallie was an optician by trade and was employed with Eye Mart.  She was a member of St. George Episcopal Church and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, going to the casino and cooking for family gatherings and singing.  

Sallie will be remembered for her gentle heart, kind spirit, her embrace to everyone and her Big Smiles. 

In addition to her parents, Sallie is preceded in death by her siblings, Wilsina, David, Rosco Tobin and Orenzio Tobin, Jr. 

Sallie leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Monica Elliott, Lisa Ellis and Virgil Tobin (Chaka); grandchildren, Darryl Elliott, Jr., Monique Weeks, Domonique Elliott, Gregory Hillman, Keisha Tobin, Raymond Tobin,  Robert Johnson Jr., Vanesha Tobin and Desteny Maolone; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mariethel Bailey and Eldra Reeves; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 3pm to 5pm on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.   A celebration of Mrs. Jackson's life will follow there at 5pm.
