S. Carl Hopfensperger

S. Carl "Hoppy" Hopfensperger, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. Carl was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed woodworking and playing Bingo.

He was born on May 1, 1932, in Kimberly, Wisconsin, to the late Matthew and Valesca (Stommel) Hopfensperger. Along with his parents, Carl is preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Hopfensperger; children, Debbie Hopfensperger and Mike Hopfensperger; 5 stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 siblings; special friends, Lori and Angie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, his Funeral Service will be held privately with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
