Ryder Layman Dowell, 1 month, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026. Ryder was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, and great-grandson. He had a sweet nature and was a blessing to his family. Ryder was loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed by all who cherished him.

He was born on May 20, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky to Darryl Dowell, II and Anna Moore. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Dawn Dowell; and great-grandmother, Helen Joseph.

Ryder is survived by his loving family, mother, Anna Moore; father, Darryl Dowell, II; grandparents, Lesley and Daryl Raymer; grandfather, Darryl Dowell, Sr.; grandfather, Don Moore; great-grandparents, Walter and Dona Moore, and Mike and Judy Cunningham; brother, Matthew Leach; uncle, Austin (Shelby) Moore; aunt, Amber Dowell; cousins, Nova Dowell, Niko Dowell, Rylen Dowell, Rylee Dowell, Parker Moore, Paxton Moore; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Visitation will resume on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of his life to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
