Ruth (May) Romans, 85, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Sellersburg, Indiana, and loved to sew and read. Ruth will always be remembered for the love that she had for her faith, family, and friends.

Ruth was born on February 1, 1933, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Nunnie and Rose (Bailey) May. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lee Romans; siblings, Paul, Charles, and Phyllis Ann May; and son-in-law, James Axsom.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George A. Romans, Sr.; children, Deborah "Deb" Axsom, Sherry Wright (Dale), Colleen Brendle (John), George A. "Bub" Romans, Jr., and Gary Romans (Melinda); siblings, Dorothy Roberts, Margie Wagner (Bill), Joyce Coy, and Lucille Fair (George); 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue Tuesday morning, March 6, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with her Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle (714 East Utica Street, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Full Gospel Tabernacle.
