Ruth Ann Popp, a beloved homemaker, mother, and matriarch, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Sellersburg, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on March 13, 1934, in New Albany, Ruth’s life was a testament to love, faith, and selfless dedication to those around her.
After graduating from New Albany High School, Ruth embraced her role as the heart of her family with grace and unwavering strength. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kenneth W. (Teri) Popp, Kevin Paul Popp, Cynthia Bowling, and Christopher E. Popp (Linda). Her family legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Justin A. (Megan) Popp, Brandon M. Popp, Joseph P. (Brittany) Popp, Dominic Geary, Zachary (Tiffany Lynch) Woodard, Caleb (Liz) Popp, and Colton Popp. Ruth’s great-grandchildren—Eric S. (Sarah) Popp, Nicholas (Genesis Morris) Popp, Shelby Popp, Grayson Popp, Peyton Popp, Lainey Popp, Wyatt Woodard, and Tilly Mae Woodard—along with her great-great-grandchildren Oaklyn Ellis and Luka Popp, continue to honor her incredible spirit. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Schad, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Ruth Ann Popp lived a life of quiet strength and infinite generosity.
