Ruth (Harper) Hill

Ruth (Harper) Hill, 88, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016, in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked for decades at Winn Dixie in Louisville as a head cashier until their closing. Ruth then worked at Kohl's in New Albany for 10 years until she retired. She was a longtime member of Rolling Fields Baptist Church.

She was born on September 12, 1927, in Boonville, Indiana, to the late Lee and Minea (Reed) Harper. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Fisher; and brothers, Buck and Bob Harper.

Ruth is survived by her son, Dean Hill (Bess); granddaughter, Kristi Hill; and great grandchildren, CJ Gant and Dallis, Dillon, and Caeley Finley.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
