Ruth Jean (Booker) Dennie

Ruth Jean (Booker) Dennie, 87, of New Albany, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Jean enjoyed reading, shopping and working on puzzles. She also loved music and to go camping. Jean was a long time member of the Red Hat Society.
She was born on March 23, 1930 in Fredericksburg, IN to the late Thomas & Stella (Greenlee) Booker. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Dennie; sons, Ernie, Larry and Gary Dennie; siblings, Fern, Ruby, Jewell, Opal, Evelyn, Margaret, Frankie, Bonita, Judy and Alan.
Jean is survived by her children, Donna Nunn (Barry) and Patricia McDonald (Robert); sisters, Iris Davis, Janet Haycox, Charlotte Pickett, Mary McDonald, Faye Nelson and Brenda Nichols; grandchildren, Billy Dennie, Michael Dennie, Tammy Zehnder, Jimmy Edsell, Jeremy Nunn, Sherry Newland, Brian McDonald, Adam McDonald and Avery McDonald; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Chapel Service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park in the Last Supper Chapel (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Ln, Ste 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284).
