Russell Dale "Russ" Tye, born on October 27, 1963, passed away on October 29, 2021. He was a supervisor at UPS working on his retirement plan, with previous employment at Asylum Extreme. Russ believed everyday he woke up was a good day and he was a happy man. He was a kid at heart, who enjoyed playing with his toys, which included, RC cars, planes and helicopters. Russ loved all types of cars, especially MOPAR. He recently raced his Dodge Charger on a road course at the Holly Mopar Party held in Bowling Green, KY. Russ's latest aspiration was to become a Pitmaster champion. He enjoyed smoking all kinds of different meats in his Pit Boss. Everything Russ cooked was going to be "the greatest" you ever ate. Russ was a unique, one of a kind shining star. Regardless if you had your differences with him at some point in your life, he made you laugh. Russ was a one arm bandit that stole the hearts of many and will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Frankie and Rosetta Tye.
Russ is survived by his son, Joseph Anthony "Tony" Tye; granddaughter, Rosie Tye; his partner, Tammy Garvin; her daughters, Ashley and Sarah Garvin, along with Anthony, Nathan, Kayleigh-Rae, Xander and MaKynzee, who thought of Russ as their grandpa.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-6pm with a celebration of Russ's life beginning at 6pm.
