Russell Patrick Jones, 74, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at his home with family gathered. He was a United States Navy veteran.
He was born on April 11, 1944, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late George and Mary (Gullett) Jones. Russell was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret (McNaughton) Jones; and siblings, Charles Jones, Neely Jones, and Gerry Grether.
Russell is survived by his children, Rebekah Blankenship and Benjamin Jones (Whitney); sister, Phyllis Beaven (John); sister-in-law, Issy Jones; grandchildren, Bradly Blankenship and Isabelle Grace Jones; and great-grandson, Coltyn.
Cremation was chosen following Russell's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with a celebration of Russell's life taking place at 6:00 p.m.
