Russell "David" Jessie, 62, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Teamsters Local 89 and honorably served in the US Air Force.
He was born on November 3, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to Eulis and Virginia (Staples) Jessie. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Jessie.
David is survived by his son, Garrett Jessie, son, Kyle Jessie, brother, Paul (Yvonne) Jessie, brother, Carl Phillip (Linda) Jessie, sister, Patricia Carolyn (Terry) Welshans, sister-in-law, Joann Jessie, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
The family requests that contributions in David's memory be made to American Cancer Society.
