Ruel T. Robinson, 97, of Louisville, Kentucky, went Home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
A decorated WWII Army Veteran who fought with the greatest generation at Normandy and received The Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Most of his career was at GE Appliance Park as a packing specialist and damage control coordinator for shipments for all Appliance Park. He attended Carlisle Avenue Baptist most of his life. He filled many positions in leadership over the years, was a deacon and a faithful member.
He was born on March 29, 1924 in Buffalo, Kentucky to James and Alma (Thurman) Robinson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother James Robinson Jr., his wife of 71 years Dorothy Robinson and daughter, Lynda Simpson.
Ruel is survived by his son, Richard (Becky) Robinson, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Doris Hill and his niece.
Cremation was chosen and Ruel will be laid to rest with his wife at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
