Ruby R. Poole

Ruby R. Poole, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was born in Rockvale, Kentucky on February 9, 1932 to the late Roy Oliver and Mamie Cravens.

Ruby was a devoted wife and homemaker who always had the interests of her neighbors and family members at heart. Her many talents included cooking, flower gardening and making handmade quilts. She took particular delight in caring for children. She was a member of Lee's Lane Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Poole; five sisters and a brother.

Ruby is survived by three children, Vickie Sue Pedigo, Gary (Pam) Poole and Jeffrey (Lisa) Poole; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. till service time on Saturday both at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special Thanks to Hosparus of Louisville for the care and comfort they provided to both Ruby and her family.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hosparus or American Alzheimer's Association.
