Ruby (Blair) Barker, 87, of Pekin, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Pekin, Indiana.
She was born on September 30, 1927 in Holmes Mill, Kentucky to the late Alp and Polly Ann (Cornette) Blair. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Barker; sons, Danny and Dennis Barker; 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
Ruby is survived by her children, Sandy Taylor (Steve), Donnie Barker, Linda Dornbush (Michael); grandchildren, Brian Taylor (Jackie), Shelly Taylor (Warren), Kristin Holtgrave (Greg), Vallerie Barnes (Luke), Ryan Dornbush (Stacy), Jillian O'Neal (Brandon); 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Mount Zion Baptist Church (3802 Mt. Zion Church Road, Pekin, IN 47165) with her Funeral Service taking place at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Pekin, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Ruby's memory may be made to her church (Mt. Zion Baptist Church, PO Box #2, Pekin, IN 47165-0002).
